Vi Builder and Bricklayer Trade Village

Vi village (Phuong Chieu commune, Tien Lu district) has many traditional crafts (Including hat making and builder jobs) and new industries (Including carpet weaving, bee keeping, apple and longan drying). Of all the manual professions, builder and bricklayer job is the most traditional and famous job. Vi builders have contributed their talent in many architectural works in Hung Yen and Pho Hien. Currently, Vi village has a mighty mason force of 300 people, of which about 40 are chief builders who can be responsible for large-scale works requiring high techniques.  In the past, Vi builders could only work manually but now they can afford and use pole combination, fixed forms, concrete mixer and other advanced equipments. Each year only calculating the salary, Vi builders can earn about VND 800 million and the average income per labourer is about VND 400,000 per month. With the economic development and the urbanisation process, the construction demand is increasing; hence, Vi trade village can develop its traditional construction industry.
