Also attending the incense and flower offering ceremony was Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province.

The delegation of cadres from Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery (Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) and the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery (Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province). Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery is the resting place of more than 10,200 martyrs who died on the Ho Chi Minh Trail during the resistance war against the US to save the country. Within the cemetery grounds, there are separate graves for martyrs of Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces, of which there are 332 martyrs of Hung Yen province. The Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery is the resting place of more than 10,000 heroic martyrs who fought and served on the Road 9 front, the Quang Tri battlefield and Laos during the years of resistance war against the US to save the country. At the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery, there are 133 Hung Yen's martyrs.

Every year, the resting places of martyrs are carefully cared for by the Party Committee, Government and People of the two provinces, showing deep gratitude to the outstanding children who heroically sacrificed for the cause of struggle, national liberation, and national unification. In particular, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), from April 18 to June 20, the two provinces of Hung Yen and Hai Duong jointly conducted renovation and repair of Hai Hung martyrs' graves at Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery with a total cost of nearly 5 billion VND, ensuring quality requirements and progress set out.

Lighting incense sticks at the Monument of Heroic Martyrs and each martyr's grave who is the son of the hometown of Hung Yen and Hai Duong, members of the two provinces' cadres expressed: the Party Committee, Government and People of the two provinces of Hung Yen and Hai Duong will forever remember the merits and noble sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their blood and devoted their entire youth for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Next, the delegation of cadres from the two provinces came to offer incense and flowers at the special national relic site of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, which marks the fight to protect Quang Tri Ancient Citadel in the summer of 1972 by the army and people. During the fierce battle of 81 days and nights to protect Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, many soldiers and people across the country, including the children of the homeland of Hung Yen and Hai Duong, fought heroically, sacrificed and eternally stayed on this land. Quang Tri Ancient Citadel has recorded in the nation's history a shining milestone of revolutionary heroism; a place that educates the patriotic and revolutionary traditions for generations and is a sacred symbol of the desire for peace.

Hung Yen province’s leaders drop wreaths on the Thach Han river to express deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives on the sacred river.

About 1km from Quang Tri Ancient Citadel is Thach Han river wharf. During 81 days and nights in 1972, thousands of soldiers crossed the Thach Han River from the North bank to the South bank to fight to protect the town and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel. Many children of the Fatherland have heroically sacrificed their lives, their blood and bones mixed with the Thach Han river. Thach Han river is considered a "martyrs' cemetery without a tombstone". In a sacred and respectful atmosphere, the delegation of cadres from the two provinces offered incense at the Ceremony House and dropped flowers on the south bank of Thach Han river to express their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell for the country.

On this occasion, the delegation of cadres from Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces awarded the "Gratitude" Fund of Quang Tri province 200 million VND (100 million VND for each province).
