17/04/2014 | lượt xem: 12 in: Noi Le Bamboo Boat Trade Village The population of Noi Le village, An Vien commune, Tien Lu district is crowded but its area is small; there are nearly 500 households with more than 2,000 inhabitants but there is only 86 ha of agricultural land in the village. There are many professions in Noi Le but the two most developed ones are boat weaving and waterway transport. Up to 1/3 of the total number of households with 350 labourers participate in the boat weaving job, making and selling about 7,000 boats each year, 4000 of which are fishing-net boats and 3000 are transport boats. The turnover is more than VND 700 million annually and the average income per capita is about VND 150,000 – 200,000 per month. Current and future demands of this product are shrunk due to the market reduction; hence, the potential for boat weaving development is not feasible.
