Delegates visit the Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychees area in Tam Da commune

Phu Cu district has over 1,200 hectares of litchi, including 850 hectares of Phu Cu early- ripening hybrid lychee and nearly 300 hectares of Hung Yen Trung litchi. Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychee is grown mainly in communes: Tam Da, Minh Tien, Tien Tien. This year, the weather is favorable and farmers have improved their techniques for taking care of lychees during the flowering and fruiting period, so the output has increased and estimated to reach at 13,500 - 14,000 tons (in 2023 it reached over 12,500 tons).

Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychees are harvested earlier than other types of lychees on the market, with full harvest expected from May 31. When it is ripe, this type of lychee has a bright red color and a delicious, sweet flavor; the average weight of 20-25 fruits/kg, has been granted a trademark registration certificate by the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology); and rated 4-star OCOP product by the People's Committee of Hung Yen province.

At the conference, a number of supermarkets, domestic businesses and cooperatives in the district signed a memorandum of cooperation to consume Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychees products.
