In 2025, the Provincial People's Committee led and directed departments, branches, and localities to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directives and resolutions of the Party, the State, and the Ministry of National Defense on defense and security work. The work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army was organized closely and in accordance with regulations. Localities selected and handed over 4,604 young people to perform military service and service to join the People's Public Security, completing 100% of the military assignment target.

The work of educating the entire people on national defense and fostering national defense and security knowledge for the subjects was carried out seriously and effectively. The province focused on directing and improving the overall quality and combat readiness of the local armed forces; building the armed forces with strong political will, ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks.

During the year, the provincial armed forces strengthened training, built a regular order, strictly managed the number of troops and technical equipment; strictly maintained the command, on-duty, and combat duty regime. The work of training, drills and ensuring the combat operations of local troops, militia, and reserve forces was carried out well. The armed forces coordinated with other forces to strengthen measures to grasp and promptly resolve complex issues arising in localities and bases, avoiding being passive and surprised. From there, maintain political security, social order and safety in the area, creating a favorable environment for local socio-economic development.

Regarding the local military and defense tasks in 2026, the Provincial People's Committee has set out 8 groups of tasks to direct and organize implementation; including continuing to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party's directives and resolutions, the Government's decrees on the construction and operation of defense zones; grasp the local situation, promptly handle arising issues, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety; organize management and firmly protect the sovereignty of the province's maritime border areas; improve the operations quality of the National Defense and Security Education Council at all levels, strive to complete the targets of training in national defense and security knowledge for the subjects; improve the quality of activities of the military service council, military recruitment boards at all levels; regularly improve the standing force, build the reserve mobilization force, militia, and self-defense force to ensure targets and plans.
