The Provincial People's Committee receives and works with the Vietnamese Embassy in Portugal

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Le Huy expressed his pleasure to welcome Ambassador Nguyen Manh Thang and members of the delegation; at the same time, he briefly introduced the highlights in the socio-economic situation, the potential and investment advantages of Hung Yen province in the new development period after the merger.

He emphasized that in recent years, Hung Yen province has always maintained macroeconomic stability, controlled inflation well, and maintained a high economic growth rate compared to the national average. Along with that, the investment and business environment has been constantly improved, administrative reform has been promoted, the quality of public services and people's satisfaction has been increasingly enhanced. In the Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, Hung Yen has identified priority for attracting investment in high-tech, environmentally friendly fields; supporting industries and logistics; eco-tourism, modern urban areas, eco-resort urban areas, services; and education - training, finance, information technology, Artificial Intelligence projects... towards the goal of participating more deeply in the global supply chain.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Hung Yen is always committed to creating the most favorable conditions for domestic and foreign investors and enterprises. In addition to maximum support in administrative procedures, investors also enjoy preferential policies according to the regulations of Vietnam and the province.

He expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Embassy in Portugal, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Thang personally, and the Portugal - Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to support and promote the image of the land, people and potential, investment opportunities of Hung Yen to the Portuguese people; at the same time, connect and introduce the province's specialties and strong goods to the Portuguese and European markets.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Thang and Mr. José Pedro de Sousa Vieira expressed their impression of the dynamic development of Hung Yen province; at the same time, they hoped to learn more about the socio-economic situation of the province, as well as the potential for cooperation between Hung Yen and Braga city, Portugal in the areas of both sides' strengths.

The two sides discussed and agreed on the proposed contents of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Hung Yen province and Braga city during the upcoming investment promotion trip of Hung Yen province to Portugal. The key cooperation contents include: promoting cultural exchanges, boosting tourism, trade and economic exchanges, cooperation in urban renovation, heritage conservation and consulting on effective cooperation models, towards establishing a monitoring and evaluation mechanism for joint projects to ensure specific and sustainable results.

The two sides believe that after this working session, a new direction of cooperation will be opened between Hung Yen province and localities and organizations of Portugal, contributing to promoting the friendship and development cooperation between the two countries to become increasingly deeper and more substantial.
