Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Quang Hoa provided an overview of the socio-economic development of Hung Yen province after its merger with Thai Binh province from July 1st, 2025; and affirmed that the merger not only creates a wider development space but also strengthens infrastructure linkages and expands the potential for domestic attraction and international investment. In particular, with its location adjacent to Hanoi, within the key economic region of Northern Vietnam, and convenient connections to the Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh axis, Hung Yen is home to many large industrial centers, with relatively synchronized infrastructure and a young, dynamic workforce, making a positive contribution to the process of industrialization, modernization, and international economic integration.

By 2025, the province's GRDP is estimated to reach VND 166,106 billion, seeing an increase of 8.78% compared to 2024, ranking among the top 10 nationwide; GRDP per capita is expected to reach approximately VND 99 million. State budget revenue is projected to reach VND 101,451 billion, equivalent to 183.1% of the forecast, ranking the 5th out of 34 provinces and cities. The investment environment continues to improve, with the province's PCI in 2024 ranking among the top 10 nationwide.

Regarding investment attraction, the province currently has 4,050 active projects, including 3,104 domestic projects with a total registered capital of VND 793,504 billion and 946 FDI projects with a total registered capital of USD 17.308 billion. There are currently projects from Danish investors in the province, but not many, with three projects totaling approximately USD 20.8 million in registered capital, along with one NGO project funded by the Dansk Handicap Forbund (DHF) to support capacity building for the Association of People with Disabilities in the province.

Notably, the Spectre garment technology project by Spectre Real Estate A/S (Denmark) in Song Tra Industrial Park has a production capacity of 2 million products per year, a total investment of USD 19 million, and is expected to officially commence operations from June 2026. Currently, the project has completed all construction procedures and commenced on December 5, 2025. However, due to the impact of the road expansion from Thai Binh ward to Hung Ha commune, connecting with Pho Hien ward via Song Tra Industrial Park, the project's overall site plan has been adjusted. The Provincial People's Committee is currently focusing on directing relevant departments and agencies to resolve obstacles to ensure the project is implemented on schedule.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that, through the Ambassador and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Vietnam, Hung Yen province will strengthen connections and expand cooperation with Danish partners and businesses in the fields of wind energy, renewable energy, processing industry, high-tech garment industry, tourism and services, aiming for green standards to serve the sustainable development of agriculture and industry in the province.
