The Provincial People's Committee holds a meeting on the situation of Petroleum business activity in the province

On the morning of March 24, Mr. Le Quang Hoa, Member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, chaired a meeting to assess the situation of petroleum business activity in the province. In the attendance were Mr. Vu Thanh Van, Member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; leaders of departments and agencies that are members of the Provincial Steering Committee 389; and representatives of petroleum businesses in the province.

The delegates attend the meeting.

According to the report, since the beginning of March 2026, due to the impact of the conflict in the Middle East, the world petroleum market has experienced strong fluctuations in price and supply. Domestically, the supply is basically ensured thanks to long-term import contracts. However, if the complex situation persists, the import of crude oil for refineries and refined petroleum products may face difficulties, potentially affecting the supply.

Currently, in the province there are 427 retail gasoline stations operating stably. The average daily consumption is approximately 1.9 million liters; the lowest is around 1.4 million liters, and the highest can reach 3 million liters, depending on production, business needs, and traffic volume. The supply of gasoline in the province is projected to be basically guaranteed until the end of April 2026.

The market inspection and control continue to be strengthened. To date, 100% of stations have signed commitments to comply with legal regulations in gasoline business operations. Gasoline businesses and retail stations generally strictly comply with legal regulations: displaying and selling at the correct prices; there is no hoarding, reduced operating hours, limited sales volume, or unreasonable price increases; and they do not trade in smuggled, unregistered, or substandard gasoline.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with press and media agencies, is stepping up propaganda about the supply, contributing to stabilizing public sentiment and preventing hoarding.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and assessing the supply and demand situation; clarifying difficulties and obstacles in the import and distribution of petroleum products; and proposing solutions to ensure stable supply in the coming period, especially when the world market still harbors many unpredictable factors.

To actively advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct the synchronized supply of petroleum products in the area. To strengthen inspection and supervision of petroleum business activities; proactively develop plans to respond to market fluctuations. To urgently compile and unify data on daily petroleum and gas energy consumption to serve the direction and management work. To plan the system of petrol stations soon, expand the network to meet the requirements of industrial and logistics development; and develop electric charging stations, aiming for the use of green and clean energy. To resolutely suspend operations of petrol stations that do not meet safety conditions.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested petroleum businesses to strictly comply with the law and the direction of the Government and local authorities; ensure transparency and market stability; and not take advantage of fluctuations to commit illegal acts. To proactively report difficulties and obstacles, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management in stabilizing the market and meeting the production, business, and living needs of the people.
