General Secretary To Lam witnesses the handover ceremony of bilateral cooperation documents between Vietnam and Kazakhstan

On the morning of May 6, 2025, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presided over the official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam and his spouse on his state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan in the capital Astana. Afterwards, General Secretary To Lam and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the high-ranking delegations of the two countries witnessed the handover ceremony of cooperation documents and the adoption of the Joint Statement on the establishment of the Vietnam-Kazakhstan Strategic Partnership. On the side of Hung Yen province the ceremony drew the attendance of comrade Tran Quoc Van, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
At the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the high-ranking delegations of the two countries witnessed the following cooperation documents: the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan. The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of culture between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan for the period 2025 - 2027. The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of sports between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan. The Cooperation program between the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice of Kazakhstan for the period 2025 - 2027. The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the People's Committee of Hung Yen province and the government of Kyzylorda province (Kazakhstan). Kyzylorda province has great potential, vibrant development, and economic diversity. Currently, Kyzylorda province has a Vietnamese corporation operating in the fields of air transport and mining. The connection between the two provinces will open up new development prospects in the fields of economic development, tourism, etc. In addition, Kazakhstan is interested in attracting workers in the light industry sector and will cooperate in the fields of construction, industry and trade. Hung Yen province wishes to cooperate with Kyzylordab province in economic fields such as construction, trade, tourism, industry, etc. for sustainable development.

Vietnam and the Republic of Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations on June 29, 1992. Since then, the traditional friendship between the two countries has been continuously consolidated and developed. The State visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan by General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, has contributed to promoting bilateral relations in many fields, opening up new cooperation opportunities and deepening the relationship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
