Son Nam ward was newly established on the basis of receiving 0.28 km2 of Duyen Yen village, Ngoc Thanh commune, Kim Dong district before and merging the entire natural area and population size of four wards and communes of Hung Yen city before as follows: Lam Son, Bao Khe, Phu Cuong and Hung Cuong. After its establishment, Son Nam ward has a natural area of 23.62 km2, a population size of 30,471 people. The Son Nam ward’s Party committee consists of 43 grassroots Party organizations and 1,350 party members. In the last term, the ward's annual growth rate averaged 10.65%; the annual state budget revenue always met and exceeded the assigned plan, the total revenue for the whole term is estimated to reach at about 2,389 billion VND. For the 2025 - 2030 term, Son Nam ward sets a target of an average economic growth rate of 11%/year; an urbanization rate of 70%; a near-poor household rate of less than 0.3%/year, towards no more poor households. To strive to admit 3 - 4% of new Party members each year out of the total Party members of the entire Party committee; 100% of socio-political organizations complete their tasks well, of which 20% complete their tasks excellently. At the Congress, the decision of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board was announced to appoint the Party Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Party committee for the 2025 - 2030 term. Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Than acknowledged and commended the achievements of Son Nam ward in the past term; at the same time, he requested the Ward Party Committee to recognize and clearly define the direction for the next term; have a vision, development orientation, and promote from the new development space. In the coming time, the ward needs to focus on implementing the following tasks: Quickly stabilize the organization, unify the entire Party committee. To strengthen the work of building the Party, a clean and strong political system. To build a team of cadres with a high sense of responsibility to serve the people, to focus on socio-economic development, increase income for people. To exploit the advantage of the location along the Red River, develop high-quality agricultural economy, small-scale industry associated with trade, services, tourism, towards an ecological, smart, modern urban ward. To carry out comprehensive digital transformation; provide 100% of public services online throughout the process. To pay attention to implementing well the work of social security, sustainable poverty reduction; ensure national defense, security, order and social safety. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that immediately after the Congress, the ward immediately start building an action program to implement the Resolution of the Congress with specific goals and solutions, clear people, clear work, throughout the term and specifically each year; review and supplement the planning of the ward in accordance with the planning of the province; operate the new ward government effectively and efficiently, especially at the Public Administration Service Center.
