To implement the Government's Action Plan on economic diplomacy in 2023

The Government on March 9, held a teleconference to implement the Government's Action Plan on economic diplomacy in 2023. The conference was held after the Government had issued the Action Program for the period of 2022-2026 to implement Directive No. 15-CT/TW dated August 10, 2022 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on economic diplomacy in service of national development until 2030. Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister presided over the conference. At the Hung Yen bridge point, the conference drew the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Hung Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the conference is very important to grasp and implement the directives of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and the Government's Action Plan on economic diplomacy. This is a broad field, interwoven with many socio-economic aspects. The Prime Minister suggested that participants in the conference promote their wisdom, discuss, closely evaluate and propose specific and practical solutions and tasks to drastically and effectively perform economic diplomacy in 2023 and subsequent years. The Prime Minister asked the delegates to deeply assess the situation, identify opportunities and challenges, especially the opportunities that Vietnam needs to take advantage of, propose measures, share experiences and ways to... concretize and effectively implement the Government's Action Plan.

In 2022, closely following the Government's steering and administrative focus in Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated January 8, 2022, the Prime Minister's directives at conferences on economic diplomacy, diplomatic work have been implemented drastically, methodically and effectively, promptly shifting the focus from diplomacy in service of epidemic prevention and control to serving socio-economic recovery and development, taking the people, localities and businesses as service centers. Vietnam continues to participate actively, proactively, responsibly and effectively in multilateral economic mechanisms, ensuring a balanced and harmonious behavior with major partners, catching up with new trends and initiatives in order to maximize the mobilization of resources to serve the transformation of the growth model, improve the position and prestige of the country.

In 2023, the Foreign Affairs branch will focus on implementing six key tasks, including: Continuing to promote the implementation and concretize the Government's Action Plan; identifying economic cooperation as the focus of senior leadership's activities; promoting export support, investment, tourism, labor, science - technology... with the spirit of taking people, localities and businesses as the service center; continuing to actively and proactively integrate and link internationally; focusing on strengthening research, consultation and strong innovation, promoting creativity and improving efficiency to create substantive changes in the implementation of economic diplomacy.

At the conference, delegates discussed and contributed many ideas and solutions to effectively implement the Government's Action Plan on economic diplomacy in 2023.

Addressing the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the important role of the Foreign Affairs branch in implementing the Party and State's foreign policy, including economic diplomacy, in the context of the world situation continuing to evolve rapidly, complicatedly and unpredictably. The Prime Minister requested that in the coming time, the Foreign Affairs branch should closely follow the Government's Action Plan, maintain its bravery and principles, but be proactive, and flexible.
