After 25 years of re-establishment, Van Lam district has reaped many achievements in socio-economic development, national defense and security, and political system building. The average production value increased by 26.17%/year. The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of industry and services, reducing the proportion of agriculture. In 2023, the state budget revenue reached over 5,335 billion VND; the production value per hectare of cultivated land attained 210 million VND, seeing an increase of 7.12 times compared to 2000; the average income per capita reached 80.24 million VND, seeing an increase of 37.62 times compared to 1999. Up to now, the poverty rate is 0.8%. The district has 32/32 schools meeting national standards. Health care has many positive changes and developments in terms of quantity, scale, and quality of medical examination and treatment.
