The 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) is a large-scale project, with a total length of 519 km, 2 circuits with 1,177 tower positions, with a total investment of more than 22,300 billion VND (nearly 1 billion USD). The project has a volume of land and rock excavation of more than 2.5 million m3, using more than 705,000 m3 of concrete, nearly 70,000 tons of foundation rebar; the total volume of steel tower installation is 139,000 tons; pulling a total of nearly 14,000 km of conductors of all kinds...

This is a key, urgent project of great significance to increase the capacity of power transmission through the 500kV system from the Central region to the North with a capacity of 2,500 MW at present to 5,000 MW, improving the stability of the power system operation, increasing power supply to the North in 2025 and the following years, reducing the risk of overloading of existing 500kV lines and stations, contributing to ensuring national energy security.

The project construction process has encountered a lot of difficulties and major challenges, but with new thinking, methods, and approaches compared to previous methods, the project implementation time has been significantly shortened, meeting the requirements of project completion progress as directed by the Prime Minister.

Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has chaired many meetings to review, urge progress, inspect the actual situation at the construction site, requesting leaders of ministries, branches, localities, political and social organizations, Vietnam Electricity Group, National Power Transmission Corporation, consulting units, equipment and material suppliers, construction units to work with the spirit of "enduring the sun, overcoming the rain, not yielding to storms", "focusing on action, not retreating", "not enough work during the day, working at night", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", working continuously 24/7, "3 crews, 4 shifts", "working through holiday, Tet, and day off". With that determination and effort, the project has been completed, energized and operated in accordance with the requirements directed by the Prime Minister.

Emphasizing the difficulties and challenges in the project implementation, the Prime Minister said that with the strong leadership and direction of the Government, the determination and efforts of the entire political system, the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project, from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) is a project with lightning-fast construction progress, demonstrating the solidarity and unity of the entire political system under the leadership of the Party. The project's operation contributes to ensuring national energy security; strengthening the trust of investors and foreign partners; demonstrating the aspirations, beliefs, and values ​​of the Vietnamese people...

The Prime Minister requested that in the coming time, Vietnam Electricity Group and the National Power Transmission Corporation coordinate with local agencies to do a good job of environmental restoration and sanitation; organize the operation of the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) and the entire national power system safely and effectively; at the same time, continue to invest in developing power sources and grid systems, ensuring adequate and stable supply of electricity for socio-economic development; actively participate in ensuring social security and stabilizing people's lives. Authorities at all levels in the nine provinces whose the project passes through coordinate with investors to continue to pay attention and care to stabilize, constantly improve, and enhance the material and spiritual life of people affected in the area where the project passes.
