On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, a delegation of Hung Yen province led by comrade Tran Quoc Van, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on August 24, offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery and the special national relic site of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel. The delegation of province’s cadres saw the participation of comrades in the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee: Dao Hong Van, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Education Commission, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Pham Van Khue, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Commission; Le Quang Hoa, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission; the Standing members of the Provincial People's Council together with leaders of some departments, branches, localities, and the armed forces of the province.

The province's delegation came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery (Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province). The Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of more than 10,200 martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the Ho Chi Minh trail during the resistance war against the US to save the country. In the cemetery grounds, there are separate graves for martyrs from Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces, of which there are 332 martyrs from Hung Yen province.

The province’s delegation visited the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery (Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province), the resting place of more than 10,000 heroic martyrs who fought and served on the Road 9 front, the Quang Tri battlefield and Laos during the years of resistance war against the US to save the country. There are currently 133 martyrs from Hung Yen at the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery.

Next, the province’s delegation offered incense and flowers at the special national relic of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel was recorded in the history of the nation as a brilliant milestone of revolutionary heroism with the heroic and resilient fight of thousands of cadres, soldiers and people to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri town during 81 historic days and nights in 1972. Quang Tri Ancient Citadel today is a place to educate the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary tradition for generations and has become a sacred symbol of the desire for peace.

Lighting incense at the Monument of heroic martyrs and each martyr's grave who was a son of Hung Yen, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Quoc Van and members of the delegation of province's cadres expressed: The Party Committee, government and people of Hung Yen will forever remember the great merits and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their blood and bones, devoted their entire youth to the independence of the Fatherland. The following generations promise to uphold the tradition of “When drinking water, remembering its source”, unite as one, constantly strive to build the homeland to become more and more prosperous and developed, improve the people's lives; care for the material and spiritual life of policy beneficiaries, worthy of the homeland's tradition and the sacrifices of heroic martyrs.
