Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister on November 15, chaired the conference "Developing Vietnam's tourism quickly and sustainably" in both face-to-face and virtual forms in Hanoi, connecting from the Central bridge point at the Government Headquarters to provinces and cities across the country. At the Central bridge point, the conference drew the attendance of comrade Tran Hong Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; representatives of leaders of a number of relevant ministries and branches.

At the province’s bridge point the conference saw the participation of comrade Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: The country has just experienced the Covid-19 pandemic, which has had a significant impact on socio-economic development, including the tourism industry. Therefore, all levels, sectors and localities need to join hands to overcome difficulties to promote economic growth in general and the tourism economy; have thinking and solutions to access and expand the tourism market; the management of the tourism industry must be consistent with the new, groundbreaking and systematic situation.
With the close direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the coordination of ministries, branches and efforts of the industry, tourism activities have gradually recovered, especially domestic tourism. In the first 10 months of 2023, the total number of international tourists reached about 10 million, and domestic tourists reached 98.7 million. Total revenue from tourists attained more than 582 trillion VND. The results of tourism recovery have a pervasive impact on many areas, contributing to improving three growth drivers of the economy: investment, export and consumption.
However, the recovery rate of international tourist arrivals is still low, and Vietnam's tourism advertisement and promotion activities have not met the requirements for frequency and coverage of key markets; tourism promotion activities of national scale and stature have not been organized yet. Vietnam still lacks a flexible and competitive visa policy in the new context after the Covid-19 epidemic. Tourism products are not commensurate with their potential and strengths, have low added value, and are not truly diverse and attractive to some tourist markets in the new context; there is a shortage of skilled and experienced workers in the tourism sector...

Speaking at the province’s bridge point, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duy Hung provided general information about the province's tourism development from the beginning of 2023 to present; the shortcomings, limitations, difficulties, and problems in products, infrastructure, and human resources in tourism activities. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed as follows: In the coming time, sectors and localities in the province will strengthen management and innovate state management of tourism; review and standardize tourism destinations; encourage tourism business units to invest in technical facilities to serve tourism; improve the quality of tourism services; promote domestic and international tourism advertisement and promotion activities; improve the quality of human resources and local community awareness of tourism development...
