Hung Yen is located on the left bank of the Red River, the center of the Northern Delta, a land with a long cultural tradition. Hung Yen has a favorable geographical position, flat terrain, the East bordering Hai Duong province, the South bordering Thai Binh province, the Southwest bordering Ha Nam province, the North bordering Bac Ninh province, the Northwest bordering Hanoi capital. The fertile alluvium is deposited by two big rivers, the Red River and the Luoc River, which gives Hung Yen green rice and corn fields, large lotus ponds and famous delicious specialties such as: longan, honey, lotus seeds…

Along with the history of thousands of years of building and defending the country of ancestor, Hung Yen has become a sacred land, where many celebrities and national heroes are found in the fields of economy, politics and culture such as: Pham Bach Ho, Do The Dien, Pham Ngu Lao, Nguyen Trung Ngan, Le Nhu Ho, Doan Thi Diem, great doctors Le Huu Trac, Nguyen Thien Thuat, Hoang Hoa Tham, To Hieu, General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh… Over the course of history, generations of ancient ancestors have left on Hung Yen thousands of valuable relics, which are architectural works: communal houses, temples, pagodas, shrines, tombs... There are many famous historical and cultural relics such as Da Hoa Temple, Da Trach Temple associated with the legend of Chu Dong Tu - Tien Dung Princess, as one of the "Four Immortals" of Vietnam, Phu Ung Temple where General Pham Ngu Lao is worshiped, especially, Pho Hien relic complex proves a prosperous time of Pho Hien - Hung Yen.

As a civilized province, up to now, Hung Yen has still preserved thousands of valuable relics. Currently, in the whole province, there are a total of 1802 relics, of which there are 03 special national-level relics, 172 national-level relics (the province ranks the third in the country in term of number of nationally ranked monuments), 257 provincial-level monuments. These are valuable assets, the core of the national cultural identity and the pride of Hung Yen people.
