The teleconference on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic

On the morning of November 20, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a nationwide teleconference with localities on the preliminary review of the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. At the provincial destination, the conference drew the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary; Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and members of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

According to the report of the National Steering Committee for the Covid-19 Prevention and Control, from the beginning of the 4th outbreak to November 19, the whole country has recorded over 1 million infected cases, of which 878,000 people have recovered from the disease (83%) and 23,400 deaths. In more than 01 month of implementing safe, flexible adaptation and effective control of the Covid-19 according to the Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP (from October 11 to November 18, 2021), the whole country has recorded 100,548 cases in the community; in Southern region there are 86,372 cases (85.9%), the Central Highlands at 1,952 cases (1.9%), the Central region at 7,550 cases (7.5%), the Northern region at 4,674 cases (4.6%). As compared to the previous month, the number of cases in the domestic community decreased by 4.8%, the number of deaths reduced by 49.1%, the number of cases treated at the hospital declined by 29.9%, the number of severe and critical cases decreased by 43.8%. Up to now, the country has signed contracts, purchased, received aid and sponsored a total of 198.8 million doses, which is enough to inject 2 doses for people over 18 years old and children aged 12-17 years old in 2021. Up to date 19/11, 131.2 million doses have been received and 129.6 million doses have been distributed (the remaining 1.6 million doses are being tested). Over 104.8 million doses have been administered nationwide, the rate of one dose of vaccine injection is 89.4%, and the rate of two doses of vaccine is 53.4% ​​of the population aged 18 years and older. There are 18 provinces and cities that are implementing injections for children aged 12-17, including Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Soc Trang, An Giang, Vinh Long, Binh Duong, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Hau Giang.

At the conference, leaders of relevant ministries, branches, agencies and localities discussed and clearly analyzed the achievements, problems and limitations; at the same time, clearly indicating the causes and measures in the coming time in order to implement safe and flexible adaptation, effectively control of the Covid-19 epidemic, and enhance the activities of socio-economic recovery and development..

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that after more than 1 month of implementing the Government's Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP and the Decision No. 4800/QD-BYT, the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the country has been basically under control. However, the Prime Minister said that the evolution of the upcoming epidemic is still complicated, the risk of an outbreak of the epidemic again is very high; in order to implement safe, flexible adaptation and effective control of the Covid-19 epidemic, promote socio-economic recovery and development in the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested as follows: The Ministry of Health needs to soon review and evaluate the results and implementation of measures to prevent and control the epidemic in the 4th outbreak to complete the overall strategy on the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control. All levels and branches continue to comment and supplement the Government's Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP; make suggestions, supplement and complete the legal basis for the implementation of safe and flexible adaptation solutions, effective control of the Covid-19 epidemic, promote the socio-economic recovery and development synchronously and unifiedly. Localities need to strictly conduct the Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP and the instructions of the Ministry of Health in the epidemic prevention and control; coordinate for people to move among localities safely and conveniently; promote vaccination, strive to have 2 doses of vaccination for people over 18 years old by the end of 2021 and make a program and plan to vaccinate children. The Health sector proactively approaches and responds to Covid-19 treatment drugs, cuts administrative procedures to distribute treatment drugs to localities. Ministries and branches need to coordinate to soon issue regulations and procedures for testing and isolation in accordance with the new situation./.
