At the working session, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong reported the Covid-19 prevention and control in the province and the plans for the epidemic prevention and control. Up to now, 100% of the villages in the province have established the epidemic prevention and control teams and the medical checking points. The cases of suspected infection are strictly isolated, according to regulations.

By the morning of April 2, the Ministry of Health announced the number of positive cases nationwide as 222 cases, including the case No. 219 in Tan Quang commune (Van Lam). This is the one related to the patients No. 133 and No. 16, who are being treated at Bach Mai Hospital.

Facing the above situation, Hung Yen province held an emergency meeting to direct related agencies to coordinate with Van Lam district to carry out zoning and making the epidemic control plans and preventing the spread of the disease on a large scale.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen highly appreciated the province's disease prevention and control; the plans proposed by the province are reasonable. However, the situation of Covid-19 epidemic in the country is in a worrying period, therefore, Hung Yen province together with the whole country must strictly carry out the preventive measures under the direction of the Prime Minister "Anti-epidemic as anti-enemy" and always have a plan to prepare in advance.

By this time, there is one case infected of Covid-19 in Hung Yen province, so the Deputy Minister of Health suggested Hung Yen province should quickly implement the measures of zoning, isolation and stopping the epidemic in the area, where there is infecterd case under the guidance of the Ministry of Health, take the experience in Xuan Loi (Vinh Phuc province) to implement, but based on the actual situation in the locality to have a suitable and effective measure. The province needs to prepare a plan to cope with the emergencies, provide sufficient food and foodstuff for the people in isolated areas, and at the same time do well the propaganda to prevent people from being confused and worried.

In response to the call of the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, over the past time, the Central Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control and the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front have received the support and contributions of many collectives and individuals to join hands to prevent and combat the Covid-19 epidemic with both materials and cash. After reaching the agreement, the Ministry of Health decided to assign Hung Yen province a real-time PCR device for rapid testing of SARS-CoV-2.

Reportedly, the PCR device will shorten the time of SARS-CoV-2 testing to about 4 hours.

After handing the testing device to the leader of Hung Yen province, the Deputy Minister of Health suggested that Hung Yen province should immediately send a medical team working in the testing department of the province to the central hospitals to rapidly receive the transfer of testing technique for effective use of PCR device.

Receiving the PCR device, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong would like to thank the Ministry of Health for the interest in Hung Yen province, because Hung Yen is currently lacking many equipment, machines and medical supplies to serve the Covid-19 prevention and control. The PCR device will be immediately delivered to the Department of Health to use soon.
