Hung Yen’s geographical location
Hung Yen province is located in the Red River Delta, in the Northern Key Economic Zone.
The administrative boundaries border 5 provinces and cities as follows:
* The North borders with Bac Ninh province.
* The Northwest borders with Hanoi city.
* The East borders with Hai Duong province.
* The South borders with Thai Binh province.
* The Southwest borders with Ha Nam province.
The spatial and territorial distribution of the province has such geographical coordinates as:
* From 20o36' to 21o01' North latitude
* From 105o53' to 106o17' East longitude.
The total natural area of 930.2 km2 accounts for 6.2% of the Northern Delta area. Hung Yen is a plain province without forests, mountains and sea. There are 10 districts, towns and city with 161 communes, wards and townships. Hung Yen city is the political, economic and cultural center of the province.
In the province, there is a system of important road traffic routes such as: the National Highways No. 5, No. 39, No. 38, No. 38B, Hanoi - Hai Phong Highway; the road connecting Hanoi - Hai Phong with Gie Bridge - Ninh Binh Highways, the provincial roads: No. 376, No. 378, No. 379, No. 382, No. 382B, No. 386, No. 387. .. and the Hanoi - Hai Duong - Hai Phong railway, connecting Hung Yen with the Northern provinces, especially with Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh; there is a system of the Red River, Luoc River forming a traffic network that is quite convenient for goods exchange and travel.
