The national teleconference to review the traffic order and safety work in 9 months of 2021

On October 15, the National Traffic Safety Committee held a conference to review the work of ensuring traffic safety and order in the first nine months of 2021, deploy tasks in the last months of the year. Comrade Pham Binh Minh, Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee chaired the conference. At the Hung Yen destination, the conference drew the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Hung Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee.

From December 15, 2020 to September 14, 2021, there are 8,161 traffic accidents nationwide, 4,175 people killed and 5,645 people injured. Traffic accidents have reduced 3 criteria as compared to 2020, of which, decreasing by 2,527 cases, 817 deaths, 2,237 injuries. The Traffic Police Force has made a record to handle more than 2.2 million cases of traffic safety violations, fined over 2.1 trillion VND; stripped more than 200,000 driving licenses, professional diplomas and certificates; temporarily seized over 375 thousand vehicles. Through the control of vehicle loads, the functional forces have inspected over 58.2 thousand vehicles, stripped over 2.2 thousand driving licenses, and fined over 65 billion VND to pay into the State Treasury. Traffic police have detected and handled nearly 68,000 cases of violations of overloading cargo. The Transport sector has improved the safety of infrastructure, dealt with black spots, potential traffic accidents and tightened safety management for transportation activities...

In Hung Yen province, in 9 months of 2021, the whole province has detected and handled 11,852 cases of traffic safety and order violations, fined over VND 15.1 billion, seized over 2,636 violating vehicles, stripped over 1,182 driving licenses of all kinds. Regarding traffic accidents, from December 15, 2020 to September 14, 2021, in the whole province there are 97 cases, 75 people killed and 76 people injured. As compared with the same period in 2020, traffic accidents have decreased by 10 cases, 8 deaths have reduced, 14 injured people increased.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh requested: In the last months of the year, sectors and localities should continue to implement solutions to ensure traffic safety and order associated with effective control of the Covid-19 epidemic. To strengthen propaganda and raise awareness of traffic participants; complete systems of legal documents and policy schemes on ensuring traffic order and safety; renovate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of patrolling, controlling vehicle loads, strictly handling violations that are the direct causes of traffic accidents; review and implement plans to deal with black spots and potential traffic accidents; conduct plans to ensure traffic safety in the rainy season...
