Currently, the total amount of waste water discharged into the whole Bac Hung Hai river system running through the provinces of Hanoi, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh and Hai Duong is over 453 thousand m3 / day and night. The survey results across the Bac Hung Hai river system show that there are 183 directly discharged points of waste water and 3 indirect points from residential areas; of which Hung Yen has 151 direct ones.

Besides, there are 10 directly discharged points and 2 indirect points of the industrial zone, of which Hung Yen has 4 direct ones.

The total amount of generated waste water in Hung Yen province is nearly 144 thousand m3 / day and night, of which the waste water from households, trade villages and healthcare accounts for about 70%. Most of the domestic wastewater and trade villages has not been collected and treated but discharged directly into the watershed of Bac Hung Hai river through the territory of the province, which must receive the wastewater sources with the amount of about 100 thousand m3 / day and night that do not meet the requirements from Hanoi city.

The Bac Hung Hai river in Hung Yen province is seriously polluted. The results of water quality sampling conducted by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment from 2017 to now show that 100% of the samples do not meet the permitted standards.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing such issues as: Statistics, control and monitoring of waste sources; the planning of wastewater collection and treatment points; the construction of the works and models of collection and treatment of domestic and husbandry waste water and from craft villages; to standardize the discharge outlet of the source when issuing the discharge permits; to install the signboards of discharge points into Bac Hung Hai river; to prevent the waste from being dumped on the Bac Hung Hai river system; the dredging and clearing of flows; the measures and policies to mobilize the investment resources for environmental protection works...
