At the meeting, Mr. Dang Ngoc Quynh, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee gave an overview of the socio-economic development and the development of enterprises and entrepreneurs in the province.

In the past year, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee have led and directed the drastic and comprehensive implementation of socio-economic development tasks and solutions, along with the efforts of all levels, sectors, economic sectors and people in the province, the socio-economic development in the province has gained quite comprehensive results: Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by 9.64%; economic structure shifted positively; export turnover reached 4,250 million USD; budget revenue got VND 13,168 billion, reaching 109.7% of the estimates, of which domestic revenue attained VND 9,827 billion, export and import tax reached VND 3,341 billion. My Hao district is recognized to meet the new rural standards. The whole province has 117/145 communes meeting the new rural standards. The province has well implemented social security policies, improved the quality of health, education and training activities. In 2018, the province has attracted 157 new investment projects, including 129 domestic investment ones and 28 foreign - invested ones, bringing the total number of investment projects in the province to 1,836 ones with the registered capital of VND 125 trillion and USD 4,345 million. There are 59 more projects going in operation, bringing the total number of operating projects to 1,091 ones. In a frank and open atmosphere, representatives of a number of businesses and businessmen focused on such issues as: To expect the province to continue to care for and create favorable conditions for businesses to expand their production and business activities; the province invests in upgrading and renovating a number of road sections for laborers of enterprises to conveniently travel and trade goods; functional agencies organize training courses to improve corporate governance capacity in combination with fostering legal knowledge so that enterprises can operate in accordance with law; to propose some solutions to improve the provincial competitiveness index...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highlighted: Hung Yen's leaders always affirm the important role of the business community and businessmen working in the locality in the province's socio-economic development achievements, especially in the economic restructuring, the implementation of state budget estimates and labor restructuring. In the leadership and direction of the socio-economic development and ensuring security and national defense of the province, the province attaches special importance to the development of the industry, handicrafts and services, in order to quickly increase the proportion of industry and services, step by step creating a reasonable economic structure and sustainable development. Hung Yen province is consistent to support and create favorable conditions for enterprises to produce and do business in an equal and lawful manner; encourage enterprises of all economic sectors to invest in expanding the production and business, especially producing high-tech, high value-added and environmentally friendly products and goods of a high competitive advantage in the market...

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong requires businesses operating in the province to fully and seriously abide by the provisions of law, accelerate the construction progress and soon put the projects into operation and strictly assess the environmental impacts, not discharge waste causing environmental pollution, for the benefit of the community; take care of workers' life; actively participate in social activities. All levels and branches in the province should continue to commit to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry on creating a favorable business environment for enterprises in the province; innovating a number of activities to improve the provincial competitiveness index; promoting administrative procedure reform, doing well the state management in the area, being a companion with the businesses for the common development of the province and the success of the businesses...

Recognizing the contributions of the enterprises and entrepreneurs, on this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee made the following commendation decisions: To award Pho Hien Cup to 10 enterprises with great contributions to the province's socio-economic development in 2018; reward the certificates of merit to 20 enterprises and 30 individuals – leaders of businesses with outstanding achievements in the state budget remittance in 2018; award the certificates of merit to 5 provincial enterprises with outstanding achievements in paying import and export taxes in Hung Yen province in 2018; reward the title of "Typical Hung Yen Entrepreneur" and Pho Hien Order of Merit for 10 individuals; award the title of "Provincial emulation soldier" to 1 individual. At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the emulation flag to Hung Long II Garment Joint Stock Company (Lam Son ward, Hung Yen city).
