Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha visited a high-tech waste treatment plant in Hung Yen city

* On March 20, the delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, led by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha, paid a working visit to a high-tech waste treatment plant in Hung Yen city.

The working session saw the attendance of Mr. Do Tien Sy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly; Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Delegates visited a high-tech waste treatment plant in Hung Yen city

The high-tech waste treatment plant owned by Sa Mac Xanh Company Limited (headquartered in Hanoi) started running from August, 2018 in An Tao Ward (Hung Yen City) on an area of ​​about 2 ha.

By January, 2019, the plant is basically completed with a design capacity to handle 100 tons of waste / day / night (phase 1), using gasification for power generation and handling about 15-20 tons of garbage / day. It is expected that by the beginning of April, 2019, the plant will operate officially and handle all the waste of the whole city discharged in the day. 

At the working session, the leader of the high-tech waste treatment plant in Hung Yen city introduced the technology and processes from receiving, classifying and treating garbage.

After visiting the plant, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha said that the waste treatment technology of the plant is quite modern and suitable for Vietnam. The construction of a waste treatment plant in Hung Yen city will contribute to solving daily waste discharges.

However, to ensure environmental hygiene for the area around the plant, especially the lives of households near the plant, he requires the enterprise to comply with the process; the system of conveyors and the garbage storage areas... must meet the requirements; garbages need sorting before processing. For the garbage that cannot be treated according to the technology of the plant, it is necessary to have appropriate solutions to avoid backlog. 

The Minister proposed Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate and create favorable conditions for the plant to operate better and achieve the highest efficiency; make appropriate land planning for the plant to expand its area and scale of operation. At the same time to continue to accurately and scientifically assess the impact of waste gas and wastewater from this plant on the environment; the planning and sorting garbage of the local and each household must be synchronous... 

* On the same day, the delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment led by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan, worked in Van Lam district on the non-ferrous metal recycling in Dong Mai village (Chi Dao). 

The delegation was received by and worked with Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui The Cu; leaders of some departments and agencies of the province; leaders of Van Lam district.

With the drastic participation of all levels and sectors in the province, by the end of 2015, Dong Mai non-ferrous metal recycling village has basically relocated the establishments and households involved in purchasing, dismantling and recycling lead to Dong Mai trade village industrial cluster to produce concentratedly. At the same time, to offer solutions to handle the environmental pollution in Dong Mai trade village...

After hearing reports, recommendations and doing actual surveys in the previous non-ferrous metal recycling village in Dong Mai village, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan asked the functional departments to coordinate with the authorities to give the solutions to handle the problems of previous recycling of lead in Dong Mai as well as plastic recycling village in Van Lam; continue to do survey and assess the overall status of the soil, water and air so that people can live peacefully...
