On June 6 afternoon, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan visited a number of flowers and ornamental plants models in Hung Yen. She was accompanied by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, General Secretary of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office...

They were welcomed by Mr. Do Tien Sy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly; Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Do Dinh Hao, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police.

In Van Giang district, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the delegation visited a number of flowers and ornamental plants models in Xuan Quan and Me So communes. Leaders of Van Giang district, Xuan Quan and Me So communes have reported to the delegation on the flower and ornamental plants plantation in the area. 

Xuan Quan commune is heading in restructuring of crops and livestock, applying science and technology into production towards the commodity, contributing to improving the production efficiency for people. Currently, over 1 thousand households in the whole commune engage in growing flowers with an area of nearly 180 hectares, accounting for 75% of the cultivated area and 50% of the total households of the commune. This work has created stable jobs for nearly 2,000 workers. Flowers in Xuan Quan are grown with a variety of types all year round, with the average cultivation value of over 500 million VND / ha / year. Per capita income reaches 52 million VND / person / year. People's lives are constantly improved both physically and spiritually. In 2018, Xuan Quan commune has met the new rural area standards. 

Me So commune currently has 265ha of annual crops and 91ha of perennial crops. The value on 1 ha of cultivation reaches 450 million VND / year, the value of per capita income reaches over 57 million VND / year, the poverty rate in 2018 of the commune is 1.09%. In 2014, Me So commune was recognized to meet the new rural area standards. In 2018, it has invested VND 26 billion to build the model of a new rural area...

At communes, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her joy when many valuable flowers and ornamental plants have been successfully propagated by farmers here, bringing high economic value. At the same time, she praised the efforts of the Party committees and local authorities as well as the sensitivity and diligence of people in transforming the agricultural models from traditional way to high-tech one. Despite the agricultural land is narrowed, the profit has increased many times, significantly improving people's income and living standards. 

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked local leaders to continue to support and create favorable conditions for people to access high technology as well as coordinate in the product consumption for farmers. At the same time, the locality strengthens links and creates production chains to promote the general development of production models in and outside the locality. 

She wishes that, in the coming time, Van Giang district in particular and Hung Yen province in general will replicate the flowers and ornamental plants models in other localities in the province in a suitable way to contribute to improving people's lives. 

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan visited and presented gifts to Ms. Vu Thi Ca, 84 years old in Me So commune. Ms. Ca is the wife of martyr Vu Dinh Tung, who sacrificed in the Southern battlefield during the war against the US.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her deep gratitude for the great contribution of Ms. Vu Thi Ca's family as well as those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. 

She asked the Party committees and authorities in the province to continue to pay more attention both physically and mentally to the families policy, so that they will have a better life.
