In 2018, the Ministry of Home Affairs actively advised the Government and coordinated with ministries, branches and localities to well organize the staffing, build and manage the cadres, civil servants and employees, the local authorities, administrative boundaries, salary policy reform and administrative reform. The religious work, emulation - rewards, archive and youth work are strengthened. 

In 2019, with the motto "Accelerate, break out, tighten the discipline, promote the communication and apply information technology", the home affairs focus on a number of following key tasks: to direct the construction and improvement of institutions in the field of internal affairs. To promote administrative reform, streamline the apparatus; restructure the cadres, civil servants and officials, improve the effectiveness in state management of the sector. To boost the decentralization, create a favorable environment for ministries, branches and localities to implement the state management tasks. To strengthen the inspection, control and tighten administrative discipline. To renovate the working methods of state administrative agencies towards publicity and transparency. To strongly apply the information technology and accelerate the construction of e-Government. 

Speaking at the Hung Yen destination, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duy Hung asked the Department of Home Affairs on the basis of the operation evaluation in 2018 to formulate the working plan for 2019 to overcome shortcomings and limitations; coordinate with other branches and localities in building the plans for merging and streamlining the apparatus, determining job positions, assigning officials to determine the work volume so that administrative agencies can operate effectively.

He requested departments, agencies and localities to closely coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs in implementing administrative reform, promptly advising the province and functional authorities to remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation to achieve the goal of building a civilized and modern administration of the province.
