On October 19, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inter-Agency Steering Committee on Food Hygiene and Safety and his delegation came to examine and inspect the work of food hygiene and safety in some models of production and supply of agricultural products in Hung Yen province.

At the Safe Vegetable Cooperative in Yen Phu and Viet Cuong communes (Yen My), Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam learned about the process of growing clean and safe vegetables. He highly appreciated the economic efficiency of these models and reminded the local people to form the habit of producing safe vegetables, not running after the immediate profits, towards sustainable development, all producers, businesses and people enjoy the benefits.

At the People's Committee of Yen Phu Commune, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam worked with provincial leaders on food hygiene and safety work. According to general assessment, Hung Yen is ranked 4th in 63 provinces and cities to do good management of food hygiene and safety work. All levels and sectors in the province shall promote the propaganda and guidance for production, processing and business establishments to strictly obey to the policies and laws on food safety.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked Hung Yen province to continue promoting the propaganda of food hygiene and safety, replicating models that are doing well in localities; strengthening the role of the Party committees and local authorities in managing, inspecting and dealing with food hygiene and safety violations.
At the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong recommended that the Central shall organize the movement to emulate the production of food safety; promptly praise and honor enterprises and individuals who have done well the food hygiene and safety work; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall tighten the control over the use of inorganic fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural materials to ensure clean agricultural production.
